Basic Gray – AWH Team “Colour Creations Week 2” Blog Hop

WEEK 2 AWH COLOUR CREATIONS BLOG HOP: 
“BASIC GRAY”

Hello and welcome! The Art With Heart team have joined together to bring you some weekly colour inspiration. Each week we will be exploring a different colour, and the best part is by the end we will have looked at all the SU! colours available! So this week we are looking at Basic Gray, and here are my examples 🙂

Card 1:
I recently made a different version of this card, and I thought it would be nice to use the same design but with a new Subtle colour. I chose to use Petal Pink for this card and I think it really stands out on the Basic Gray.

Card 2:
This card didn’t turn out quite how I expected or planned. And whilst I’m not entirely satisfied in how it turned out, I still don’t mind it (we are our own worst critics aren’t we?!).

I started off with wanting to experiment a bit more with my Stamparatus and “Stamping in the round” which became the white circle die cut. I think if I were to make it again I would use Smoky Slate here, just to break up the darkness of Basic Gray.

You might be able to just make out in the photo that I used my Wink of Stella pen over the Embossed Circle (on the raised pattern) to help add a bit of interest and contrast.

Card 3:
Saving my favourite card to last! I absolutely adore this new Host Stamp Set. I already have a few other images stamped and coloured ready to go on some other cards, it has been lots of fun to colour in and change the colour combinations and experiment with shading!

I also wanted to use a colour combination that has always appealed to me, but I’ve never really used! So here is what I used:
